| 1963年 | -Foundation- Carl Toosby bought an empty factory in the small town of Bredebro in the south of Denmark and began manufacturing women's fashion shoes under the name "Venus". |
| 1969年 | -The birth of the ECCO brand- Because the name of their flagship product, "Venus," was in danger of infringing on a German trademark, Carl Toosby was forced to consider a new name for the company. After careful consideration, he chose "Ecco" as a name that was easy to pronounce and familiar around the world. This was the moment the ECCO brand was born. |

| 1984年 | -Shoe production begins in Portugal- ECCO opens its first overseas shoe factory in Portugal, where its first employees of 1,200 produce 18,000 pairs of shoes a day. |
| 1991年 | - In-house tannery begins operations in Indonesia - To ensure a stable supply of high-quality upper materials for shoes, ECCO established its own tannery (leather tanning factory) and beam house (a factory that performs the pre-tanning process) in Indonesia. This enabled the company to access an abundant supply of raw hides locally, making it a base that supports a stable supply of leather. Shortly thereafter, the company began manufacturing shoes, and today it is ECCO's largest factory, employing approximately 7,000 people. |
| 1993年 | -Shoe and leather production begins in Thailand- Just three years after the Indonesian factory began operations, ECCO shoes could no longer keep up with demand. So, the company decided to build a new shoe factory and tannery in Thailand. Currently, 5 million pairs of shoes are produced annually, and delivered to fans around the world. |
| 1994年 | -Establishment of design center in Tønder- Carl Toosby and his son-in-law, Dieter Kapcher, purchased a former agricultural school in Tønder, southern Denmark, and established the ECCO Center as a conference and training center. They also built a research and development center within the center, so much so that this year was named "the first year of ECCO" in the United States. Furthermore, they began opening directly managed stores in Denmark. |
| 1998年 | -Production begins in Slovakia, Toosby receives knighthood- Two-thirds of ECCO's products were consumed in Europe, so ECCO decided it needed a production base in Europe and built a new factory in Slovakia.
